Trip to Thailand

The one best thing about being married is that I get to travel more than once a year. What an upgrade. Hahaha. In 2023, I had the opportunity to travel overseas to Malaysia, Bali, Türkiye and Thailand. There was nothing much captured on the trip to Malaysia because it was a short birthday trip, Bali on the other hand was an unenjoyable company retreat because we had the worst tour guide ever, and I’ve yet to blog about the trip to Türkiye, but I’m here to share my recent trip to Thailand.

My husband and I travelled in December to celebrate our anniversary and we’ve been seeing videos of Khao Yai particularly, so we really looked forward to visiting.

Of course we visited the main city of Thailand, that is Bangkok. What I enjoyed most in the city was Chatuchak Weekend Market because it was a street shopping haven. There was a lot to see in every cramp walkways and a lot of local products sold there. Unfortunately, as excited as I was visiting a new city, I didn’t get to explore Bangkok much as I fell ill most of the days and had to stay in to rest. Nonetheless, on days where I get to sight see, I visited JODDS FAIRS night markets and some malls around the main city.

Being here in Bangkok, we had to experience the tuk-tuk, even though the price surpassed a standard GrabCar ride. Riding on it reminded me of childhood whereby buses weren’t air-conditioned during the late 90s and early 2000s. Loved the sensation of the wind blowing against my face and I had to hold on tightly to my stuff from getting blown away!

After having spent days in Bangkok, we made our way to Khao Yai. It’s a town 3-hour drive away filled with amazing mountainous views. Coming from Singapore where the weather’s always hot and humid, what a good change it was to be here. We were greeted by farm friends as we stopped to have brunch at Ayah’s Halal Restaurant.

We visited a couple of animal farms and flower fields over 2 days. But the best attraction place of all was Khao Yai National Park. The park was filled with luscious greenery and the weather overall was fantastic. It was my first time hiking in cool weather and I can’t wait to do that again.

I didn’t expect Khao Yai to be this beautiful. I wish to experience more laid-back days. This was a trip I truly enjoyed. A few more photos to share because we were blessed to see a beautiful mesmerising sunset on our last day here before leaving for home.

To more trips witnessing heaven on earth.

Till then,

Amirah.
